What is osteopathy?
Osteopathy is an alternative form of medicine aimed at treating conditions from simple muscular injuries to more serious systemic conditions. It is based on the foundation that the body, when functioning well as a whole, has the innate ability to heal and restore itself. Osteopaths look for “restrictions” throughout the body from the digestive tract to the musculoskeletal system, and seek to return them to their most natural anatomical positions using manual therapy
Do Osteopaths only treat back problems?
This is a common misconception and it is completely false. We treat all areas of the body from head to toe. Osteopaths believe that when something is wrong with one part of the body, that it is essential to look at all the other parts if you are to wholly understand the cause of the problem. An osteopath, like many other medical practitioners, will never look at one part of the body in isolation.
